Before the birth of my daughter, I was an administrative assistant in human resources. I am passionate about mothering, breastfeeding, gentle parenting, scrapbooking, etc. and these are the topics that I usually write about. I went to college for 3 years full time and then took night courses for a few more years, but I have not yet completed a degree. My first major was Early Childhood Education and then I switched to Art History after I student taught in the projects in the city where Wayne grew up. It was a shocking and nightmare provoking environment to the sheltered middle class teenager that I was all those years ago. I'm a La Leche League Leader http://www.llli.org// in my local group and my children were breastfed until they weaned naturally. I have been a member of the area MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) http://www.mops.org/ for 4 years and I'm so grateful for all that this group has provided for me and my daughter. I just recently started attending Familia at our Catholic church. http://familiausa.net/ I joined the PTA at Abbie's school this past year and I volunteered at a few family events. I adore my children and they are my life. I've finally found a craft that I enjoy and excel at: scrapbooking, and I love it. Wayne and I practice our own interpretation of Attachment Parenting and try to always follow our hearts and our instincts. We fall somewhere between alternative and mainstream, as far as our parenting belief system goes.
